Contact a reputable recycler, one that will assume the liability of recycling your used equipment properly. This relieves you of future liability if the product is disposed of improperly.
Disposal awareness
If you are disposing of a computer, or any other device that has a hard drive with information stored on it, erase the hard drive if possible. If not, ensure the Recycler will do it for you. This is especially important if you have credit card information, medical records or other important data stored that could be used by others to steal identities, gain access to bank accounts, compromise your business, or affect those whom you conduct business with or your customers.
